This week, we’re tackling the first theme and looking at how AI is laying the foundation for young people to become entrepreneurs.

The Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
We are living through an age of unlimited opportunity. As artificial intelligence drastically lowers barriers to knowledge, skills, and information, young people are turning their ideas into real-world projects faster than ever before.
And while essential work is happening across governments to ensure safe, responsible AI use, another opportunity exists for schools: cultivating a spirit of AI-enabled entrepreneurship so every student can harness this new technology to explore their passions and solve real problems.
AI lowers the barrier to innovation, and our job is to give every young person the tools to turn their ambitions into reality.
What used to take months with a freelance software developer can now be done in days with a few affordable subscriptions. Entrepreneurs can now build their own prototypes, and get their innovations to market weeks after having the idea:
Elijah Khasabo launched Vidovo and earned over $1 million in revenue through the AI-assisted platform that enables users to create, share, and monetize short-form content.
Yale juniors Nathaneo Johnson and Sean Hargrow built Series, an AI-powered social networking platform.
16-year-old Ethan Alexander trained ChatGPT to manage inventory analytics, generating $150K in e-commerce sales.
High schooler Zach Yadegari used AI models to build and scale Cal AI into a multimillion-dollar company before college.
Building the Pathway
While AI provides an incredible toolkit, it alone won’t guarantee success. When we look at young entrepreneurs building million dollar businesses, we see the magic happens at the intersection of tech and material support. Early capital, dedicated mentorship, and networks (family, college, professional) remain the key catalysts that elevate a student's project from an experiment into a lasting enterprise.
The Takeaway: By pairing AI tools with structured entrepreneurship structures that provide capital, mentorship, and access to professional networks, our education systems can unlock unlimited potential and give every student the runway to build a financially free future.
National Spotlight: California Becomes the First State to Offer Anthropic’s Claude to All State Agencies
Governor Gavin Newsom announced a first-of-its-kind statewide agreement bringing Claude to California state, county, and city agencies to streamline government operations.
The Problem: State agencies are burdened by administrative backlogs, outdated technology, and high operational costs that slow down critical public services ranging from DMV response times to healthcare delivery.
The Intervention: A partnership between Anthropic and the state giving state and local government workers access to Claude at a 50% discount, paired with hands-on workforce training and centralized procurement to accelerate responsible enterprise deployment.
The Takeaway: Instead of replacing public sector workers, AI integration can amplify their capacity to deliver faster services to residents. By combining discounted infrastructure access with dedicated employee training, California is creating the blueprint for how government institutions can encourage AI use will being safe and efficient.
California's agreement proves that governments can negotiate enterprise-level AI deals at scale. But as state governments prepare their workforces, another question is raised for education leaders and policymakers: What would it take to offer these tools for free to every student?
